In this sabbatical talk, "The Unmentionables: A Year of Intersectional Equity, Institutional Change, and Liberatory Pedagogies from Washington State to Appalachia," Kris De Welde will describe the interdisciplinary research and applied sociological activities in which she engaged during her 2023-24 sabbatical. Specifically, she will share achievements from her work on faculty equity in higher education with a focus on organizational change and feminist leadership, equity in STEM fields, and liberatory pedagogies. She will discuss how her efforts draw from frameworks and principles that have become “unmentionable.”
