Regretfully, due to circumstances outside anyone's control, Douglas Humpherys, originally scheduled to perform, will not be able to do so. However, Albert Cano Smit will perform in his place and will offer a program featuring a few short extracts from Bach's Art of Fugue, Mozart's stormy C minor Sonata, Schubert's 'Wanderer' Fantasy, and Ginastera's virtuosic Danzas Argentinas, alongside a smattering of French works by Debussy, Faure and Chaminade. Smit won first prize at the YCA International Auditions. He has performed at venues including Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, Fondation Louis Vuitton (France) and Rheingau Music Festival (Germany), and he has appeared as soloist with orchestras such as Montreal Symphony, Manchester Camerata and the San Diego Symphony. Thank you for your understanding and support of the International Piano Series.

Presented by the College of Charleston's Department of Music, the International Piano Series (IPS) continues its 34th season with this season finale concert.

IPS is Charleston's longest running, season-long program with a pure focus on piano. IPS plays a distinctive role in the lives of students and the community by implementing excellence in the arts and education and cultivating piano music appreciation.
