The Department of Art & Architectural History presents a guest lecture by Alessandro Giardino - “Late Renaissance Artist Caravaggio and Giardino’s novel The Caravaggio Syndrome.” Reception to follow.

On the occasion of the English edition of his Italian novel The Caravaggio Syndrome, Alessandro Giardino (World Languages, Cultures & Media, St. Lawrence University) will present on groundbreaking material on Late Renaissance artist Caravaggio and his Neapolitan circles, but he will also elaborate on a number of techniques and strategies that allowed him to turn his art-historical research into a successful historical fiction. Giardino's novel is at its second edition in Italy and a few months after publication has already found enthusiastic readers all around the world.
